This policy covers the Scribed website (https://scribed.viewournewsite.com) and the community activity described on it. Scribed is a guided journal club operated by Marica Elizabeth.
1. What we collect
Information you give us directly

What we don't collect
We don't ask for payment card numbers on this site. Stripe handles that directly. We don't collect or store the contents of anything you actually write in your own journal; the prompts are yours to answer on paper or wherever you keep them.
2. Why we collect it
- To send the weekly journal prompt to people who asked for it
- To let you know when future gatherings open, if you asked to hear about them
- To register and confirm your spot at a paid or free gathering
- To respond to a message you sent us
- To understand how people use this site, so we can improve it
We don't use anything you submit here for advertising, and we don't sell it. Full stop.
3. Who we share it with
We're a small, personal project: the people who see your information are the Scribed founders, and the infrastructure providers that make the site and gatherings work:

If you're added to Scribed's WhatsApp community, that happens manually by a Scribed admin after a gathering, and WhatsApp's own privacy policy and terms govern everything that happens inside that app from then on. We don't control WhatsApp's data practices.
We don't sell your information or hand it to anyone else, ever. We'd only disclose it beyond this if legally required to (a subpoena or court order), or to protect against fraud or abuse of this site.
4. Cookies
- A session cookie if you sign into the admin area, strictly functional and not used for tracking.
- A Turnstile check, once configured, may briefly verify you're not a bot when submitting a form.
- No ad-tracking cookies. We don't run ads and don't use retargeting pixels.
5. How long we keep it

6. How it's protected
- Admin passwords are hashed, never stored or logged in plain text
- The admin account supports two-factor authentication
- Every admin action is logged to an audit trail
- Sign-ins are rate-limited against brute-force attempts
- The database is backed up nightly
- The site runs over HTTPS; data in transit is encrypted
No system is unhackable, and we don't claim this one is. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we'll tell you directly and without unreasonable delay.
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete what we hold, except records we need for tax/accounting purposes (see §5)
- Stop receiving our email entirely
Every email from us includes an "Unsubscribe" link. Clicking it stops all email to that address right away. If you want your record deleted outright rather than just unsubscribed, email us (see §10) and we'll do that wherever we're not required to keep it. We'll respond within 30 days.
8. Children's privacy
Scribed is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that meaningfully affects how we handle your information, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
